1 min readA reflective poem exploring the idea that external comforts and achievements are insufficient for a meaningful relationship without the foundation of true love and respect.
It’s not enough To have beauty to spare
It’s not enough To make love as in Paradise
It’s not enough To share a King’s meals
It’s not enough To love you for real
It’s not enough To travel the globe
It’s not enough That you taught me what style is
It’s not enough To share our great talks
It’s not enough To give me your wisdom
It’s not enough To have an open mind
It’s not enough That we made family.
Love needs peace Love respects Love forgives Understands.
Insults not Tolerates. Embrace flaws Let things go.
Love is felt Over ire Love is verb Not a noun.
Love is Joy Sacrifice Love is give More than ask.
Love is you More than me Love is us More than you.
Love my love Is not what You portrayed As your love
Love is Making your love Feel like a Million bucks.
If your love Drives you nuts Then he’s not Quite your love.
If you grow Find your peace Look for me I’ll be there.
